Infection infection infection!

So, we had a slight hiccup this week! Ella had her chemo on Tuesday and it was only meant to be a day visit to hospital, however Ella's temp spiked (it had been brewing for a couple of days) so we had to stay in overnight. After multiple attempts at getting a wee sample, Ella finally cooperated and the results showed she has a urinary tract infection. So, we were armed with antibiotics and sent on our merry little way on Wednesday afternoon. Yesterday Ella's temp began to rise and hit a high of 38.8 so we called the hospital. Seeing as though she was fine, happy, playing, eating, drinking etc, they said to keep her home and visit the clinic in the morning. So, we headed into the clinic this morning and had her blood count done - results were good, slightly elevated white cell count but that is because of the UTI so they are basically saying her fever is due to the UTI and to just keep an eye on her over the weekend and contact the hospital if it continues to be over 38. Ella totally suprises us though - most kids with a fever of 38.8 would be grumpy, irritable and not at all happy - but for Ella, she was totally fine and taking it in her stride!

Our backyard blitz continues tomorrow - can't wait to see the next installment of it! Hoping to have the grass laid ready for her little birthday party next weekend! I can't believe my baby is turning two in a week and a half!!!
